6. Drones

The Drones section in the BhuMeet Web User Manual is divided into two main parts:

  • 6.1 Managing Models
  • 6.2 Managing Drones

These sections provide comprehensive guidance on how to add, edit, and delete both drone models and individual drones within the BhuMeet web application. Proper management of drone models and drones ensures efficient operation and assignment within the system.

6.1 Manage Models

The Managing Models section allows users to create and manage different drone models that can be used when adding new drones to the system. Defining drone models beforehand facilitates quicker and more consistent drone entries by auto-filling relevant details during the drone addition process.

 

Onboard Default Drone Model

During onboarding (Step 3 – Add Drone), when you create or select a drone model, it is automatically saved to your Manage Models list.

This means:

  • You do not need to add the model again after onboarding.
  • The model appears under Drone Models and is available for selection when adding future drones.

6.1.1 Accessing Models

To manage drone models in the BhuMeet application, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the Drones Page:

    • From the dashboard, click on the “Drones” widget or select “Drones” from the main menu.

2. Access the Manage Models Section:

    • On the Drones page, click on the “Manage Models” button.

    • This action will direct you to the Drone Models screen where you can view, add, edit, and delete drone models.

6.1.2 Add Model

Creating a new drone model involves specifying various attributes that define the drone’s capabilities and specifications. Once a model is added, it becomes available for selection when adding new drones, streamlining the process by auto-filling model-specific details.

To add a new drone model, follow these steps:

1. Click on the “+Add New” Button:

    • On the Drone Models screen, locate and click the “+Add New” button.

  • An “Add Model” dialog will appear.

2. Fill in the Model Details:

    • Provide the following information in the respective fields:

      1. Model Name:
        • Description: Enter a unique and descriptive name for the drone model.
        • Example: “Spray “

      2. Manufacturer:
        • Description: Select the manufacturer of the drone model from the dropdown list.
        • Example: “Marucom”
        • Note: If the manufacturer is not listed, you may need to add it to the system first.

      3. Drone Type:
        • Description: Choose the type of drone from the available options.
        • Options: eVTOL, Hexacopter, Quadcopter, etc.
        • Example: “Quadcopter”

      4. Service Type:
        • Description: Choose the type of service the drone model is intended for.
        • Options: Survey, Spray, Both
        • Example: “Spraying”

      5. Battery Capacity:
        • Description: Enter the drone’s battery capacity measured in milliampere-hours (mAh).
        • Example: “25000 mAh”

      6. Endurance:
        • Description: Specify the maximum flight time of the drone in minutes.
        • Example: “30 minutes”

      7. Tank Capacity:
        • Description: Select the liquid tank capacity of the drone in liters from the dropdown list.
        • Options: 5L, 10L, 15L, etc.
        • Example: “10L”
        • Note: Applicable for drones used in spraying services.

      8. Certified:
        • Description: Indicate whether the drone model is certified.
        • Options: Yes, No
        • Example: “Yes”

3. Save the New Model:

    • After entering all the required information, click the “Add” button to save the new drone model.
    • A confirmation dialog will appear stating “Drone model added successfully.”

    • Click “Continue” to proceed.

Outcome:

  • The new drone model is now available for selection when adding new drones, enabling quick and consistent data entry by auto-filling the model-specific details.
6.1.3 Edit Model

If you need to update the details of an existing drone model, you can do so through the edit function.

To edit a drone model, follow these steps:

  1. Locate the Drone Model:
    • On the Drone Models screen, find the model you wish to edit.
  2. Access the Edit Option:
    • Click on the three dots () located on the drone model’s widget.
    • From the dropdown menu, select “Edit.”

    • The “Edit Model” dialog will appear, displaying the current details of the model.

3. Update the Model Details:
    • Modify the necessary fields as required. You can update any of the following:
      • Model Name
      • Manufacturer
      • Drone Type
      • Service Type
      • Battery Capacity
      • Endurance
      • Tank Capacity
      • Certified
4. Save the Changes:
  • After making the necessary updates, click the “Update” button.
  • A confirmation dialog will appear stating “Model updated successfully.”

    • Click “Continue” to proceed.

Outcome:

  • The drone model’s information is updated across the system, and any new drones added using this model will inherit the updated specifications.
6.1.4 Delete Model

You can not delete the Drone Model once Added.

6.2 Manage Drones

The My Drones section enables users to add, edit, and delete individual drones in the BhuMeet system. Proper drone management ensures accurate tracking, assignment, and utilization of drone resources for various services.

Default Drone Added After Onboarding

After completing onboarding, the drone you added in Step 3 (Add Drone) is automatically listed in the My Drones section.

You do not need to re-enter the same drone in this section.
You can:

  • Edit the drone’s location or name if needed
  • Add more drones for service expansion
  • Assign drones to services like Spraying or Survey as per operational need

6.2.1 Accessing Drones

To manage drones within the BhuMeet application, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the Drones Page:

    • From the dashboard, click on the “Drones” widget or select “Drones” from the main menu.

6.2.2 Add Drone

When adding a new drone, you can select an existing drone model to auto-fill many of the drone’s specifications or create a new model directly within the drone addition process.

To add a new drone, follow these steps:

1. Click on the “+Add New” Button:

    • On the My Drones screen, locate and click the “+Add New” button.

    • An “Add New Drone” dialog will appear.

2. Select or Create Drone Model:

Option 1: Select Existing Model

  • Click on the “Model Name” dropdown and select the desired model from the list.
  • Upon selection, the following fields will be auto-filled based on the model’s details:
        • Manufacturer
        • Drone Type
        • Battery Capacity
        • Endurance
        • Tank Capacity
        • Service Type
        • Certified

Option 2: Create New Model

  • If the required model is not available, you can create a new model directly:
        • Enter a new Model Name in the field.
        • Provide the following model-specific details:
          • Manufacturer: Select from the list or add a new manufacturer.
          • Drone Type: Choose from options such as eVTOL, Hexacopter, Quadcopter, etc.
          • Battery Capacity: Enter the capacity in mAh.
          • Endurance: Specify the flight time in minutes.
          • Tank Capacity: Select from available capacities in liters.
          • Service Type: Choose between Survey, Spray, or Both.
          • Certified: Select “Yes” or “No”.
  • This will add a new model to “My Models,” where it can be viewed and accessed for future use.

3. Enter Drone-Specific Details:

    • Provide the following information specific to the drone being added:
  1. Drone Name:
        • Description: Assign a unique name to the drone for easy identification.
        • Example: “SprayAndSurvey”
  1. Location:
        • Description: Select the current location of the drone from the dropdown list.
        • Example: “Nasik”
  1. Drone UIN:
        • Description: Enter the Unique Identification Number assigned to the drone.
        • Example: “452398”

4. Save the New Drone:

    • After entering all required information, click the “Add” button to save the new drone to the system.
    • A confirmation dialog will appear stating “Drone added successfully.”

    • Click “Continue” to proceed or add another drone.

Outcome:

  • The new drone is now registered in the BhuMeet system and is available for assignment to various services as needed.
6.2.3 Edit Drone

You can update the details of an existing drone to reflect changes such as relocation, maintenance status, or updates in specifications.

To edit a drone, follow these steps:

  1. Locate the Drone:
    • On the Drones screen, find the drone you wish to edit.
  2. Access the Edit Option:
    • Click on the three dots () located on the drone’s widget.
    • From the dropdown menu, select “Edit.”

    • The “Edit Drone” dialog will appear, displaying the current details of the drone.

3. Update the Drone Details:
    • You can modify or update following fields only:
      • Drone Name
      • Location
      • Drone UIN
4. Save the Changes:
  • After making the necessary updates, click the “Update” button.
  • A confirmation dialog will appear stating “Drone updated successfully.”

    • Click “Continue” to proceed.

Outcome:

  • The drone’s information is updated across the system, ensuring accurate and current data for operational purposes.
6.2.4 Delete Drone

If a drone is decommissioned or no longer in use, you can remove it from the system using the delete function.

To delete a drone, follow these steps:

  1. Locate the Drone:
    • On the My Drones screen, find the drone you wish to delete.
  2. Access the Delete Option:
    • Click on the three dots () located on the drone’s widget.

    3. Confirm Deletion:

    • A confirmation dialog will appear asking, “Are you sure you want to delete this drone?”

    • Click “Delete” to proceed with deletion or “Cancel” to abort the action.


    4. Completion:

    • Upon confirmation, a message will appear stating “Drone deleted successfully.”

  • Click “Continue” to proceed.

Outcome:

  • The selected drone is permanently removed from the system and will no longer be available for assignment.
  • Note: Ensure that the drone is not currently assigned to any active services before deletion to avoid operational issues.

Summary:

The Drones section in the BhuMeet web application provides a structured and efficient way to manage both drone models and individual drones. By following the outlined procedures for adding, editing, and deleting models and drones, users can ensure accurate record-keeping and optimal utilization of drone resources for various services such as surveying and spraying. Proper management within this module enhances operational efficiency and service delivery within the BhuMeet ecosystem.
