9. Customers
This chapter describes how Drone Service Providers (DSPs) can manage customer records in the BhuMeet Web Application. It includes viewing customer lists, accessing individual customer details, and importing customer data in bulk using an Excel file.
Customer records are crucial for enabling accurate request creation and service delivery. The BhuMeet system provides a centralized interface to manage these records efficiently.
Note: Deleting customer records is not supported. Updates can only be made by re-importing corrected data. |
9.1 Viewing the Customers
The Customers section displays a tabular list of all customers associated with your portal. This allows Drone Service Providers (DSPs) to quickly access and review customer information required for request creation and service management.
Access the Customers Section
1. Log in to the DSP Web Portal.
2. From the left navigation panel, click the Customers icon (
).
The Customers list opens, displaying all customer records in a tabular format.
Customers List View
Each customer record in the table displays the following columns:
| Column | Description |
| Sr. No. | Serial number of the customer entry |
| Customer Name | Full name of the customer |
| Contact No. | Phone number associated with the customer |
| Total Requests | Number of all requests linked to this customer |
| Accepted | Count of accepted requests |
| Completed | Count of completed requests |
| Paid | Count of requests marked as paid |
Searching for Customers
Use the search bar
in the top-right corner of the Customers screen to find a customer by name or phone number.
Tip: The search supports partial matches and updates the table in real time.
9.2 View Customer Details
The Customer Details Panel provides an in-depth view of a selected customer’s profile, including their contact information and full service request history. This enables Drone Service Providers (DSPs) to quickly assess a customer’s engagement level, review past service details, and validate payment or request statuses before creating or assigning new services.
You can open customer details by clicking any row in the Customers Table (see Section 9.1).
Access the Customer Details
To view details of a specific customer:
- Log in to the BhuMeet DSP Web Portal.
- Navigate to the Customers section from the left navigation bar.
- In the Customer List View, locate the customer of interest.
- Click on the row corresponding to that customer.
- The Customer Details Panel
Customer Profile
The top section of the panel displays essential customer metadata:

9.3 Import Customers
The Import Customers feature enables Drone Service Providers (DSPs) to bulk-upload customer records using a standardized .xls file format. This functionality streamlines data entry by allowing multiple customers to be added at once, minimizing manual errors and saving time during onboarding.
Note: Only .xls files are supported. No template download is required or provided.
Access the Import
To begin importing customer data:
- Log in to the DSP Web Portal.
- Navigate to the Customers section using the left-hand navigation panel.
- Click the Import button located at the top-right of the Customers list view.
Step 1 – Uploading the .xls File
The Upload window appears with drag-and-drop and browse options.
- Drag the desired .xls file into the upload box
OR - Click Browse to open the file picker dialog and select a file.
Once the file is selected, its name and file size are displayed.
| ⚠️ Ensure the file is in .xls format and contains valid customer data fields (Name, Phone, State, District, Taluka, etc.). |
Step 2 – Match or Replace Column Mappings
After uploading, the system prompts you to match the incoming file columns to the expected data fields. The dropdown selectors allow you to assign the appropriate mappings:
| Field | Description |
| Name | Customer’s full name |
| Phone | Contact number |
| State | State of residence |
| District | District of residence |
| Taluka | Taluka (sub-district/region) |
Click Next once all fields are correctly mapped.
| 💡 Fields can be re-mapped if the column names in the Excel file differ from the expected format. |
Step 3 – Column Mapping Confirmation
Once mappings are confirmed, a success message appears indicating that the data has been processed successfully.
Click Continue to proceed.
Step 4 – Preview and Validation
The system displays a preview of all records detected in the .xls file.
- The preview lists No., Name, Phone, State, District, Taluka
- Any incomplete or invalid entries are flagged and skipped automatically.
⚠️ Example: “Found 1 incomplete record, will be skipped.”
Step 5 – Final Import Confirmation
Click the Import button to finalize the process. Upon success, a confirmation message is shown.
✅ Your file has been successfully imported. The newly added customers will now be visible in the Customers list.
Limitations
| Limitation | Description |
| Supported File Type | Only .xls files are allowed |
| No Edit/Delete from this Flow | Imported customers cannot be edited or deleted here |
| Incomplete Records Handling | Invalid rows are automatically excluded during import |
Summary
| Action | Description |
| Upload Excel File | Supports .xls via drag/drop or browse |
| Map Required Columns | Match Name, Phone, State, District, Taluka fields |
| Validate Entries | Preview with validation of missing/incomplete rows |
| Import Data | Final upload adds customers to the portal database |
9.4 Summary and Notes
The Customers module in the BhuMeet Web Application provides Drone Service Providers (DSPs) with a centralized interface to manage customer records and service interactions efficiently. This chapter covered all key operations—viewing customer lists, accessing individual customer profiles, and importing new customer data in bulk via .xls upload.
Key Capabilities Recap
| Capability | Description |
| View Customer List | Displays all customers in a sortable, searchable table with key metrics. |
| Customer Detail View | Opens a side panel with contact info and full request history. |
| Bulk Import | Supports importing multiple customer records using a structured .xls file. |
Best Practices for DSPs
- Maintain Unique Records: Ensure each customer entry in the .xls import file is unique and complete to prevent skips.
- Standardize Field Headers: Align Excel headers with system-required fields (Name, Phone, State, District, Taluka) for smooth column mapping.
- Use the Search Tool: Quickly locate customers by name or phone number using the built-in search bar in the Customer List view.
- Validate Import Summary: Review the preview screen before confirming imports to avoid uploading incomplete records.
Important Notes
- Deletion Not Supported: Customer records cannot be deleted from the system once added.
- Editing Not Allowed: Customers can only be added via import. Editing existing data is currently not supported.
- No Manual Entry: Customer addition is restricted to the .xls import method; there is no UI for manual record creation.
